Washington, D.C. – Genesis Consulting has been awarded a multi-year contract with the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority (WMATA) to provide invoice capture and accounts payable process automation services using SAP Concur.
Commonly referred to as the Metro, WMATA provides rapid transit via rail and bus to roughly 140 million riders annually across the national capital region encompassing the District of Columbia and stretching into portions of Maryland and Virginia. WMATA, which employs 12,000 workers, is the third largest heavy rail transit system and the sixth largest bus network in the United States.
WMATA had a legacy Invoice Processing system that required extensive user manual inputs, was highly customized, and was not fully utilized by internal teams. To address this, WMATA sought out vendors to perform invoice data capture and imaging services to modernize accounts payable processes.
An SAP Concur Partner, Genesis will utilize SAP Concur Invoice solution that provides the latest in artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) technologies to automate invoice capture. This will occur while simultaneously extracting key invoice information necessary for purchase order invoice matching services with data integrated from Peoplesoft ERP and the potential expansion of additional invoice-related services.
Genesis will work with WMATA to build APIs that integrate with their Peoplesoft ERP with Concur sending approved invoice data to Peoplesoft for Payment Processing. This automated solution will eliminate manual processes, enhance efficiencies, and increase accuracy and productivity while integrating with WMATA’s enterprise resource planning system, PeopleSoft.
